Who is King David?
Hope Dealer….Christ Follower
First and foremost I am not a rapper. I am not a singer. I am not an entertainer. I am a humbled worshiper and follower of Jesus Christ. If you have to label me then call me the hope dealer.
Jesus is the plug! I want to give people hope through my God given talents. Whether through being an artist, songwriting, music creation, or film production, my soul purpose is to inspire this generation through my walk with Jesus Christ.
Where it all began
I was born in Port-au-Prince Haiti then later on moved to Brooklyn, New York at the early age of 9. While growing up in NY I always had a passion for music. I would sleep with the radio on every night. Growing up in church I was exposed to music at an early age.
As a teenager I sang in multiple youth choirs as well as the youth choir at church. Furthermore, I also formed my own gospel group as a teen. I also fell in love with the drums and piano; so I taught myself how to play drums first then later on the piano.
At the age of 14 I was introduced to R&B and hip hop music. I fell in love with artists like The Notorious B.I.G, Tupac, Nas, Jodeci and Bob Marley to name a few. But raised in a traditional Haitian Christian household, I would have to sneak around to listen to this new style of music that was so captivating.
A few years after graduating high school in Brooklyn my mom packed up and moved us to New Jersey where I would continue the next chapter of my life.
While attending a church in New Jersey I saw a need. The youth at my local church needed something to keep them interested and out of trouble, so I started a youth choir. One way or another I was always involved in ministry. Whether as a youth choir director, church musician, or a youth leader, I always had a passion to help shape tomorrow’s leaders.
My professional journey
I have been involved in many aspects of the music industry from promoting shows and various events and concerts with major to independent artists. As a studio engineer and an A&R representative I have developed the talents of various artists such as upcoming Jersey native R&B singer Ayce, Christian rapper Sam Fortune, and rapper/blogger Christopher Helas to name a few.
I’ve been in the background producing and developing various artists and helping them find their voice and to use it to their best abilities, but all the while I’ve been holding back and being reserved about my own voice. I would feel that maybe my voice was too thin or too nasal or both and not full enough, and therefore causing me to not allow God’s gift to move through me.
Discover my vibes, my inspirations
After experiencing a tragic and painful loss, I somehow felt that God has breathed a new motivation in me to not hold back the talent and gift of music he has blessed me with. So I’ve decided to allow God to use me and embrace my voice. I want to share all my life experiences; the joy, triumphs, including my pain as a testimony through my music, in hope that it will help and encourage others who may be or will be going through similar life experiences.
So I give you these vibes, this declaration of faith. I pray that it touches and inspires you to not only reach but to grab hold of your dreams and keep pushing in your God given purpose towards your destiny!
